With Art comes a price
I like how this shot of baby Ethan turned out during a photo shoot we did over the weekend on location. Since we had already captured alot of profile shots, Dash and I were wondering how to take one from a bird's eye view angle. I was scratching my head, and so was she =P~. Anyhow we came across a step ladder and since Dash wasn't tall enough to get right on top of Ethan guess who was next in line? So there I was, with the camera about six feet right over Ethan nervously trying to line up the lens to where E was centered. The heater was on since we didn't want the baby to freeze and me(a big guy) hovering up on top of a 10pound baby with camera equipment hot as heck. I pressed the shutter and heard it actuate....I got off the step ladder right away and tada...lost alot of blood but we got a pretty good shot =).

10,000
So this year I promised myself that I would take about 10,000 pictures of the kids. I think that maybe overkill to both the camera(more shutter mileage) and children(they're already starting to get irritated when daddy starts pointing the lens at them). I already took enough good pictures of them this year to fill a shelf of albums so I have a different approach in mind. Anyhow these two pictures I'm posting was from yesterday, the day of their school concert - can't believe how kids grow up so fast...and I mean fast....even faster then bilis

Sharp pictures or Soft Dreamy ones...is that the question?
I've been having trouble lately with editing the pictures we take. The debate is whether to have a soft finish or sharp finish on pictures. With a soft finish, the skin becomes more creamier and the whole composition of the piece has this dreamy effect. On the other side of the inverse flip side, a sharp finish, where the colors, tones and edges just pop out of the picture which enhances the focal point of your piece and possibly everything else. So the picture on this post is the sharpened version of the third picture from the prior post...what to go with generally-to me it's a toss up.

More tests on the new full frame we got today
Did this test with the 24mm prime on Danica's favorite teddy. Natural vignetting is more significant now shooting uncropped.

New York Landscape
Walked from 52nd Ave to Broadway. Being our first time in New York I had to snap a quick shot of the street sign excited to see Time Square just up ahead. The combination of the lights and all that people made the city look so alive. The very next day we took a ferry(check out the pics i took from the ferry below) out headed to see the Statue of Liberty - wasn't too great since we weren't allowed to set foot on the island due to the hightened security at the time. After, we checked out the Empire State building and I took a picture of the Empire State from the booth I got Dash a Knock off purse =). The picture turned out great and it's probably one my favorites that were taken during this trip. The buttom most picture of the post is a picture I took from the Top of the Empire State Building...yikes that's a long way down.
